Manchester United has had a tough and unsuccessful season so far under Louis Van Gaal. While Van Gaal has managed to stay in the position of manager for United, Ed Woodward is looking for a replacement for the manager.
Van Gaal had earlier offered to resign from the managerial position at United, which Woodward had not accepted and now as United’s game went much worse, Woodward seems to have starting checking his options. According to the Gaurdian, Woodward has eight candidates list for Van Gaal’s replacement, and will be choosing any one from the same.
The list of eligible candidates include Jose Mourinho, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, Diego Simeone and Mauricio Pochettino, Pep Guardiola, Marcelo Bielsa and Jorge Sampaoli.
As such United seem to have some reservations with regards to Jose Mourinho, while Pep Guardiola is rumored to be moving to Manchester City, United are still hopeful to get the coach move to Old Trafford. Mauricio Pochettino, on the other hand, has also been shortlisted by Chelsea to take over from interim Manager Guus Hiddink.
