Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has been selling quite a number of papers in the last couple of days thanks to his involvement with model Celia Kay. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will take the necessary disciplinary action against Olivier Giroud. The French International after denying the rumours, apologized to the fans and his wife through Twitter which has gone viral.
‘I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans,’ he said.
‘I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment.’ Tweeted Giroud.
It looks like Mertesacker, along with fellow Germans Podolski and Ozil have joined the rant during their pre match training.
There also several rumours flying in that Giroud was lined up for a penalty of £230,000, which was dropped after hearing his case.
Meanwhile, Celia Kay Confirms that she did not have sex with the Arsenal striker. ‘Olivier knows the truth and the fact that he lied about us is pathetic,’ says Kay.
The hotel incident was reported to have taken place in the early hours before Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Feb 2. Giroud played the full 90 minutes of that game.
Looks like the French International has got all the attention before Arsenal’s big game and if he could replicate his off-field performances at the Emirates tomorrow, it would do a world of good for both the club and the player.
After sitting out of Arsenal’s FA Cup clash during the weekend, Giroud is expected to return to the starting team for the Champions League tie.
