Norwich City signing this explosive French winger is the type of reinforcement that Daniel Farke needs to thrive in the Premier League

Norwich City Opinions: Nicolas Benezet can aid Premier League progress

Norwich City fans will be extremely hopeful that manager Daniel Farke is able to comfortably guide his team to the long-sought Championship trophy from this position, as well as promotion to the most exciting league in the world.

With some excellent tactical play and hard work in training, Farke has been able to instil his ideas into his players and the likes of Teemu Pukki, Emiliano Buendia and Onel Hernandez responding well this season.

Currently top of the Championship table, they are 2 points of ahead of 2nd-placed Leeds United and 4 points ahead of Sheffield United, meaning the title race is still far from over.

They have been quite good this season, having played some good-looking, free-flowing football right from the opening day. Despite some glaring issues in the team, Farke has been able to push through to get till this point.

Although their defence isn’t the strongest, when they do concede, they usually score two goals to make up for it. They have scored 71 times in their 35 games so far which signifies their threat going forward.

With this said, a quick look shows that Norwich City’s squad depth is an area that should concern the manager. A single injury to one of the 3 wingers could spell trouble for the Canaries.

In Todd Cantwell, Emiliano Buendia and Onel Hernandez, Norwich have 3 quality wingers but the former is still only 21. Marco Stieppermann is another attacking player in the side but he prefers to function down the centre.

They have 3 out-and-out wingers to choose from and in a league as demanding as the English top-flight, there will be an urgent need for back-up wingers who can fill in the massive shoes.

French winger Nicolas Benezet, 28, can be the perfect player for Norwich given his style of play. Tricky and often elusive on the ball, his dribbling skills set him apart from the rest while he is also a predator in the opposition box.

He uses his awareness and positioning well and when combined with his speed, he becomes a difficult prospect for defenders to deal with. He has scored 3 and assisted 1 for his club Guingamp of Ligue 1 this season.

Having played in the league 21 times, he is a first-team regular and his contribution towards the side haven’t gone unnoticed. This move would be a win-win for both parties and Daniel Farke must send an enquire at the earliest.
