Mourinho to field an unchanged XI – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United line-up to face West Brom

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face West Brom In The Premier League

The Red Devils look to finish the season on a high as they welcome a struggling West Brom side doomed for relegation. Buoyed by their fierce comeback against rivals City, United have struggled for consistency in 2018.

However, with the upturn in form of key players such as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, the first-team squad is finally taking shape for Jose Mourinho.

Probable Manchester United XI

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Formation: 4-3-3

David De Gea (GK)

The Spaniard is the first name on the team sheet for Mourinho and is having yet another fantastic season for the Red Devils. Clean sheet number 17 could be well on the cards for the United goalie this weekend.

Ashley Young (LB)

Young’s resurgence in the left-back slot continues. He has made the position his own under Mourinho and has displayed incredible poise and discipline to thrive in an unfamiliar role.

Chris Smalling (CB)

The hero of the Manchester Derby, the winner had a sense of redemption to it for Smalling. Having been guilty of losing Vincent Kompany for City’s opener, the centre-back will face yet another aerial barrage against a side renowned for route-one football. The 6’4 defender needs to produce a commanding performance against the Baggies.

Eric Bailly of Manchester United
Eric Bailly

Eric Bailly (CB)

The former Villareal man is an entirely different animal when fully fit. His impressive physical attributes are a major reason for United’s miserly numbers at home and Sunday evening should be no different for Bailly and co.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

The mainstay of United’s first-team, Valencia has been imperious, to say the least. Strong in the tackle and astute in use of the ball, his forward forays against West Brom would catch the eyes.

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

The Serbian oozes class as he goes about breaking up the play and recycling possession from deep. Perhaps the most important player for Mourinho, Matic is undroppable at the moment.

Ander Herrera (CM)

The deep-lying playmaker was a constant menace against City in the second half, snapping at opposition players as United enjoyed much more possession in the second half. A big solution to the Pogba puzzle, Herrera provides bags of energy to United’s midfield.

Paul Pogba (CM)

A lot has been written about Paul Pogba and his contribution on the pitch this season. Against City, he produced his best performance in a United shirt to date. When he is on song, there are very few better. West Brom presents a golden opportunity to extend his run in the starting eleven.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Often seemingly lost between midfield and attack, Sanchez has taken a lot of flak since his move. However, the Chilean is slowly regaining his confidence and has been the bright spark in United’s attack since their loss to Sevilla.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

The big Belgian was nominated for the Player of the month accolade in March, scoring twice and providing another as United put their Champions League woes behind them. With Zlatan gone, Lukaku’s importance is paramount to this team. Expect him to get on the scoresheet at home against West Brom.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

The most in-form United player, Lingard’s renaissance has been a breath of fresh air for United. While Martial has struggled to mature into a truly world-class forward, Lingard has defied expectations to emerge as United’s go-to man for goals. Another automatic selection.
