Moses To Start, Morata To Lead The Line – Strongest 3-4-3 Chelsea Line-up To Face Newcastle United

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Chelsea needed their centre-back to step up against Swansea earlier this week as they struggled to break the visitors. German star Antonio Rudiger helped them to another victory in the league, as they hold on to their 3rd spot in the points table. They are back in action this weekend as they welcome Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United in an intriguing clash.

The Magpie earned a point from their trip to the Hawthorns in the previous round and will hope for a similar result in this game. But Chelsea cannot afford to drop any points at the moment and will go for the kill.

Team News

David Luiz and Michy Batshuayi will both miss this game against the Magpies. Charly Musonda and Kennedy are also on the injury list. Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rudiger are on foul yellow cards each and could face suspension if they pick another one.

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

GK – Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian was hardly tested in the previous game and he will hope to have a similar outing against the Magpies.

CB – Cesar Azpilicueta

The Spaniard is easily one of the best in his role in England and is one of the first names for Conte on his team sheet.

Antonio Rudiger

CB – Thomas Christensen

The youngster has been effective playing at the heart of the backline for Chelsea and he should be back in the starting XI this weekend.

CB – Antonio Rudiger

The German scored the only goal in the last round to help his side to a victory. He is expected to keep his place in the side, on the left-hand side of the backline.

RWB – Victor Moses

The Nigerian international came on as a sub in the previous game and is expected to replace Zappacosta on the right wing.

CM – Cesc Fabregas

Adding creativity to the side should be Spanish playmaker Fabregas, who should be given special attention by the visitors in this game.

CM – N’Golo Kante

The French international is going to cause nightmares to an already struggling Newcastle United midfield and could be the biggest weapon for Chelsea.

Eden Hazard

LWB – Marcos Alonso

With very few options in the squad, Alonso is expected to start his third game in the last eight days for Chelsea.

RW – Pedro

The Spaniard should start on the right wing, giving his side some width and pace in the attack to break down a stubborn Newcastle side.

LW – Eden Hazard

Hazard was rested in the previous game against the Swans but is expected to be back in action this weekend.

ST – Alvaro Morata

Morata was left frustrated in the previous game and could face a similar fate against a Newcastle United defence that has been stubborn this season.

Here is how Chelsea might line up:
