Hitman Kane To Lead The Line – Strongest 3-4-1-2 Tottenham Hotspur Line-up To Face Watford In Premier League

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Line-up To Face Watford In The Premier League

Spurs, last season’s Premier League runners-up, were enjoying a sensational inception of the new campaign too. Mauricio Pochettino, their young Argentine gaffer, has transformed them into title challengers and youngsters like Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez have flourished under his sincere guidance. But the North Londoners’ accelerated run hit a massive low in recent weeks when they suffered a shambolic 2-0 defeat against bitter rivals Arsenal.

Since then, Pochettino’s Spurs are yet to register a single win in the league and only settled for a Wembley draw against struggling West Brom followed by a midweek defeat against Leicester City. They now desperately need to come back to winning ways and will travel to Vicarage Road this Saturday afternoon to face an impressive Watford side in a tough away outing.

Team News

Spurs will have a couple of significant injury absentees as both Victor Wanyama and Toby Alderweireld are unavailable until the new year with their respective knee and thigh injuries. But youngster Harry Winks is expected to recover from his illness and return against the Hornets.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Pochettino has lately lined up a ‘back-three’ formation and despite recent stumbles, Pochettino is not expected to switch his set-up against Watford on Saturday afternoon. Harry Kane is among the goals but the likes of Alli and Eriksen need to step up and contribute more to the attack like they usually do.

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman is struggling a bit in recent weeks, yet, he is their main man between the sticks and will be a major influence in clinching a win on Saturday afternoon.

Eric Dier (RCB)

The Englishman has been shifted to the backline in place of injured Alderweireld and should start on the right-hand side of their three-man defence.

Jan Vertonghen

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian youngster has done pretty well to impress the gaffer and has become a regular in Spurs’ defensive line. He will now have a crucial role to play for against the Hornets.

Jan Vertonghen (LCB)

The veteran centre-back has been one of their most consistent performers in recent years and will be leading a youthful backline with his experience and defensive traits.

Kieran Trippier (RWB)

Pochettino has rotated his wingbacks so far this season and Kieran Trippier might be preferred over Serge Aurier, who ended up on the losing side during their midweek fixture at King Power Stadium against the Foxes.

Harry Winks (CM)

Winks has been instrumental in Tottenham’s midfield and the young Englishman is expected to return from his illness and replace Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

Dembele is yet to find his form since returning from injury and the outing against Watford will be crucial for the Belgian to weave his midfield mastery.

Christian Eriksen (left)

Ben Davies (LWB)

Although Danny Rose was preferred against the Foxes, he has become second-fiddle to Ben Davies who is tipped to start in his usual left wingback role this weekend.

Christian Eriksen (RAM)

The Danish dynamite guided his nation to qualify for the prestigious 2018 FIFA World Cup event by scoring a hat-trick against Ireland but has struggled to find his rhythm since the international break and is now eyeing to prove is worth against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Dele Alli (LAM)

Alli has struggled to perform consistently this term and despite his majestic display against champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, the Englishman has been pretty quiet in few of Spurs’ previous league outings. Pochettino has a fit-again Erik Lamela and an impressive Heung-min Son in his squad, but the 21-year-old English sensation is expected to start the game behind his fellow countryman Harry Kane.

Harry Kane (ST)

His prolific goal-scoring run continues despite his side’s late slip-up and the English international needs to play a pivotal role once more to snatch a much-needed victory.
