Hull City have had a sedate beginning to this season, losing the first game against Aston Villa and drawing the next versus Sheffield Wednesday. So the onus is on them to produce a result against a Blackburn Rovers side who are also yet to taste a victory.
Being at home, the Tigers should do better and get a win in their bank to kick-start their campaign. Manager Nigel Adkins will be expecting some of the senior players to step up and perform well. He rung the changes in their midweek League Cup tie versus Sheffield United, however, a full-strength line-up will be expected on show this Saturday.
Hull don’t have any major injury concerns for this game. Adkins may field a similar eleven that took the field last week against Wednesday.
Marshall has been a solid presence for Hull and is expected to start in goal.
The experienced Eric Lichaj will hope to further improve his game and grab the right-back position.
The young defender has shown promise and desire to showcase his talent in the games he has played so far. We must wait a bit more to witness his 100%.
Alongside Burke, the 23-year-old de Wijs is the senior of the two and must take more responsibility. It has to be said though that they have done well as a pair.
Kingsley has gradually improved his performance levels but has to do more to thwart opposition wingers on his side.
The 20-year-old has shown talent and verve to excel at the top level. If he adds consistency, a big player could be in front of us.
Henrikson, being the senior of the two in central midfielders, should be able to calm things down in a crowded area of the pitch.
Bowen has exhibited enough to prove that he can further polish his game and become a natural threat to the defenders.
Todd Kane has been a bit off-radar so far this season, so Adkins may provide Milinkovic with an opportunity to shine and make the left-wing spot his own.
The Brazilian needs to up his game a bit as Jackson Irvine is knocking the door for an opportunity.
