Felipe Melo is now close to moving away from current club Galatasaray, with Premier League champions Chelsea keen on signing the defensive midfield superstar. Italian publication Sport Mediaset recently revealed that the former Brazil international will now undergo a medical with Serie A outfit Inter Milan ‘within 48 hours’.
The Italian outfit have agreed a £2.2m fee for their target as per reports, despite the Turkish giant’s initially asking a £7.1m price.
The Blues were also looking to sign the Brazilian midfielder, with manager Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his squad in order to win more titles in the upcoming season. The 32-year-old defender had revealed earlier this year that he was looking forward to completing a move to Stamford Bridge and play for Mourinho’s side.
In his interview, the former Juventus man had stated back then, “I am a warrior, the English like that. I love Chelsea because I’m a big fan of Jose Mourinho.”
