Although it has been four years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for Real Madrid, the supporters of the club have never been able to forget about their adored son. Bringing him back to Old Trafford will be a dream come true for every Red Devil as the transfer season continues to revolve round the Portuguese star. After continued denial to extend his contract at the Bernabeu which is due in another two years, it is believed that Ronaldo could return to England, but so far Madrid have denied such speculations.
Well finally it looks like United’s hierarchy are giving it a thought as it is being reported that Manchester United’s representatives will meet the Portuguese star and have a round of discussion with him regarding his transfer to United. According to the Daily Express, the officials of the club will hold talks with him face to face and try and convince the former United man to rejoin the club.
However Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale and Real would hold on to their prized asset by hook or by crook, still United have enough reasons to be hopeful as Ronaldo himself stated some time back that he is not happy with the club. But United are not the only team vying for Ronaldo’s signature as PSG have reportedly offered the star player a salary of £225k per week to join the French side.
Although these are very early days, it still looks like some progress are being made in United’s attempt and the club and its supporters would hope that David Moyes works with Ronaldo’s ‘super-agent’ Jorge Mendes to bring back the prodigal son to his “real home”.
It has also been reported by Spanish newspaper, elpais, which has increased the speculation further.
In other news, it has been stated by Daily Star that both Manchester United and Arsenal are fighting it out for the signature of Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo. The 27 year old striker has also expressed his desire to club president Jose Maria Del Nido to leave this summer.
In 139 league matches for the club, Negredo has scored a staggering 70 times, which has put him to the league of one of the most wantaway striker across Spain with even some of the Spanish clubs lining up for his signature.
With Rooney stating his desires to leave the club this summer and Chicharito’s concerns over his playing time, United will have to rope in a couple of strikers and in Negredo they may find a befitting one.
This has also been confirmed by Negredo’s agent who has confirmed that he will leave Sevilla this summer. Quoted by Sky Sports, he said:
“We are calm and at the end of the season, we will look at things but the choice lies with Sevilla,” Lopez told. He would only accept an offer from a club that is in the Champions League.”
