Lovren In for Klavan: Predicted Liverpool Line-Up To Face Burnley

Share

Liverpool will go head to head against Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Anfield on Sunday in Matchweek 28 of the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be high on confidence after thrashing top-four rivals Arsenal 3-1 at home last Saturday, after having endured a poor series of results since the turn of the year. The win over the Gunners means Liverpool move to fourth place in the league standings and would want to build on the performance to hold on to their spot. The last time Liverpool went against the Clarets, they were handed a 2-0 defeat at the Turf Moor, but this time though, the fans will be hoping for a better result.

Liverpool welcomed Dejan Lovren back from his injury last weekend after he missed four games, but the Croatian did not play against the Gunners. Captain Jordan Henderson and striker Daniel Sturridge still remain doubtful after having missed the last two games for the Reds.

Predicted Liverpool Line-Up to Face Burnley

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian has put in a series of improved displays in recent weeks and should start between the sticks ahead of Loris Karius.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB)

The former Southampton full-back is a key member of the team for Liverpool. His forward runs down the flank will be crucial against a tight unit like Burnley.

Joel Matip (CB)

The 25-year old has become a mainstay in the backline for the Reds in his debut season. With him on the field, there is a certainly reassured feeling about the Liverpool defence. Undisputed starter at the back.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Alongside Matip will be Dejan Lovren. The Croatian international is fit again and made the bench for the Arsenal game. Expect him to come in for Ragnar Klavan.

James Milner (LB)

The experienced Englishman has been in his makeshift position as a left-back. Should start ahead of the inconsistent Alberto Moreno on Sunday.

Emre Can (CM)

With captain Jordan Henderson still doubtful, expect the German international to hold on to his place after an impressive display against Arsenal.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutchman is enjoying a fine run of games and has soon become a vital cog in the Liverpool midfield. Having scored a goal against the Gunners, his confidence will be high. Expect more fireworks from Wijnaldum.

Adam Lallana (CM)

One of the best players for Liverpool this season, Lallana will complete the midfield trio for Liverpool. The 28-year old was once again excellent against Arsenal and Klopp will be hoping for a similar display against the Clarets as well.

Sadio Mane (RW)

Liverpool’s most valuable player. Sadio Mane has become the heartbeat of Liverpool squad this season and will be crucial if they are to break down a stubborn Burnley defence.

Roberto Firmino (CF)

The Brazilian scored against the Gunners after going on a barren run of four games without scoring. The Kop will be hoping he delivers again on Sunday.

Philippe Coutinho (LW)

It will be Philippe Coutinho who will complete the attacking trident for Liverpool. The former Inter Milan attacker is beginning to get back to his best after the injury lay-off earlier in the season. Burnley will have a hard time dealing with him.
