“Loudest fans in the country”: Some Leeds United fans react to the Whites’ emphatic 4-0 victory against high-flying West Bromwich Albion

Leeds United vs West Brom Reports: Leeds United Match Report

Leeds United go top of the Championship after 4-0 win over West Brom. This top-of-the-league encounter had massive repercussions on the table and it began with one of the most electrifying starts to any Championship game this season.

Pablo Hernandez opened the scoring in just 16 seconds flat as a West Brom long ball from kick off was intercepted in the middle of the park. The ball was the worked well to Hernandez on the edge of the box.

The Spaniard took a couple of touches and had the time to look for a pass but despite the presence 3 defenders seemingly there to cover, he was able to squeeze the ball through and into the top corner leaving Sam Johnstone no chance whatsoever.

After this, the game began to get stretched and both teams were able to build patient attacks from the back but the home side did look the more threatening side throughout the half.

Inn the 28th minute, Leeds doubled their advantage through former Chelsea man Patrick Bamford. The ball was fed to him by Tyler Roberts and the English finished coolly past the charging Johnstone.

As the game wore on, West Brom began to apply more and more pressure to try and get back into the game but some solid defending from the Whites’ centre-halves was able to prevent any mishaps until half-time.

Right from kickoff in the 2nd half, Leeds looked the more likely team to score and goal and despite Darren Moore’s desperate attempts to motivate his side to try and display a fight back.

The next goal was obviously extremely crucial as a West Brom opener could’ve split the wide open but fortunately for Marcelo Bielsa and his coaching staff, it was in fact the whites that got the 3rd goal.

It came in the 63rd minute when the ball seemed to fall perfectly for Bamford to shoot. His powerful drive deflected off Craig Dawson only to beat a diving Johnstone to make it 3-0 on the night.
