Liverpool vs. QPR: Projected Starting Line-up For The Reds

Share

Liverpool have to pick themselves up after a demoralising 1-0 loss to Hull City which effectively ended their slim hopes of catching Manchester United for the 4th spot in the Premier League. The Reds didn’t do much in the game and were rightly defeated by Hull who moved 4 points clear of the relegation zone. With no chance of getting back into the Champions League spot, barring a miracle, it would be hard to get the team going again for the next game against QPR. We look at the possible starting XI for the Reds in what is a dead rubber for them but not for QPR.

Liverpool

Simon Mignolet

The only player who has actually repaired his reputation in this disastrous season, Simon Mignolet should be starting for the Reds as he chases his golden glove award in the Premier League.

Glen Johnson

A rather baffling member in the team as Johnson could be leaving the club at the end of the season and for some reason is preferred to young Javier Manquillo.

Dejan Lovren

Another player who is slowly regaining his reputation, Lovren has been excellent in the last two games and should continue in the centre of defence with Martin Skrtel.

Martin Skrtel

The leader in the defence of Liverpool, Skrtel has been one of the few players who has had a decent season for the Reds and should continue in his role.

Emre Can

With Moreno and Enrique injured, Johnson could play on the left which means that Can, the multipurpose player could play in defence once again for the Reds.

Joe Allen

With Lucas and Gerrard not fit enough, Joe Allen should continue playing his role, whatever it really is alongside Jordan Henderson.

Jordan Henderson

He might have penned a new deal but the Liverpool skipper (until Gerrard comes back) needs to perform more consistently for the Reds.

Philippe Coutinho

The only bright attacking spark against Hull City, Coutinho seemed to be the only one who had any creative ideas and Liverpool would be reliant on him doing something special against QPR as well.

Raheem Sterling

If Raheem Sterling wants that massive contract, he better start proving he is worth it. Sterling was poor in the game against Hull but will continue in his role as one of the attacking threats for Liverpool.

Jordon Ibe

Jordon Ibe might have looked fantastic at the start of the year but he seems to have become a one trick pony as he keeps on running down the right, he should continue in his role at the right against QPR.

Mario Balotelli

With Daniel Sturridge not fit enough to start, it seems weird that Balotelli is getting a chance to score a goal or two but that hasn’t happened in the last game as Balotelli was missing longer than the taxis in your city.
