According to a report from Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are interested in signing Bordeaux striker Francois Kamano, as Jurgen Klopp prepares to bolster the Reds’ attack.
The Reds haven’t made any significant impression in the ongoing transfer window except the signing of teenagers Sapp Van den Berg and Harvey Elliot.
The Guinean’s best season turned out to be the 2018/19 campaign, where he racked up 13 goals and 4 assists in all competitions. He moved to Bordeaux in 2016.
Over the course, Kamano has added a total of 29 goals and 14 assists for the French outfit despite failing to make himself an indisputable starter. The 23-year-old has received 23 international caps so far for the Guinea national team, netting 5 goals.
His preferred position is left-wing, although he is adept at playing on the other flank and as a centre-forward as well.
The Reds’ attacking trio of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been relentless over the course. However, in terms of back-ups, the Reds have only fewer options, especially for the left-wing slot.
Whilst the future of Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson, two prospectus wingers, remains unclear, the Reds can take the services of Guinean forward Kamano.
Last season, where he was sparsely used as a starter, Kamano secured a healthy stat – an average pass success of 82%, 2.2 shots on target per game with 1.1 dribbles.

One of the biggest advantages of Kamano is his versatility to play anywhere in the attacking line-up and sometimes in a deeper role as well.
On the downside, Kamano has to work on his decision-making, which is evident from his lack of assists and key passes (0.9) last season. Nonetheless, he can be of greater use to the Merseysiders, as a back-up option.
The clock is ticking for the Reds in the transfer window and they have to quicken their efforts to reinforce their attack. Kamano would add depth to Klopp’s attack by all means.
