Liverpool Scout Report – £15m Rated ‘New Lionel Messi’ A Perfect Partner For SAS?

Share

With Liverpool guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League, it is no surprise to assume that Liverpool can now attract the premium talents from all over the world again. Earlier even though Liverpool had the cash, the fact that they were not in the Champions League meant that top players or exciting starlets gave the club from Merseyside a miss. However with the times changing and Liverpool being already linked with a host of some world class players, there is one tricky winger, who while not being world class at the time will suit the bill perfectly at Liverpool. The name is Juan Manuel Iturbe who is already being hailed in certain quarters as ‘the new/next Messi’ is a transfer target for the Reds according a report from Metro who values the player at around £15million.

A tricky winger who is currently on loan at Serie A club Hellas Verona from Porto has already started attracting attention from clubs all over the world and is actually the best fit for Liverpool at the moment. This Liverpool side does not have any superstars with egos (Steven Gerrard might be categorized into a superstar but he is without any ego after all) and perhaps a youngster who knows all the tricks in the world and with all the talent to back him in a competitive league like the Premier League might be the best way for Brendan Rodgers to go.

Also while Liverpool might have Raheem Sterling in their ranks, the Merseyside team is not exactly blessed with options in that front and that is one of the reasons why Sterling has had to play so much this season. While Raheem Sterling has done exceedingly well along with Jordan Henderson in the wings perhaps a winger like Juan Manuel Iturbe is exactly what Liverpool needs at the moment.

Having already scored multiple goals and assists for his team for the season Hellas Verona, the Italian club already wants to make the loan deal permanent. However at the moment Juan Manuel Iturbe is at high demand from top clubs all over the world. A free kick specialist and rated as one of the trickiest winger in the world he would fit right into Brendan Rodger’s philosophy. Also his finishing and pace on the wings make him an ideal winger for any team to have and for a team like Liverpool which does not have many options on the wings he is a godsend.

However the only drawback you can derive from this tricky Argentine winger is his physicality. Not the tallest at 5’6 it will be a challenge for him to adapt to the Premier League. Also the fact that he is not really experienced at the top level of any European league makes it a challenge on the temperament of Juan Manuel Iturbe to be successful. However if Liverpool do succeed in getting their man they will have one of the most coveted young winger of the world in their ranks. After all someone does not earn the nickname ‘the new Messi’ if he is not actually very good in reality.
