Liverpool are known for their incredible youth academy and how they have been able to find some of the best young players in the world and they seem to have continued their ability to unearth talent by signing a youngster from Canada.
Liam Miller is a 16-year-old attacking midfielder, though many have stated that he is a striker and he has become the latest player to join the Merseyside club, well at least their academy. The Canadian is extremely versatile and can play either in midfield or in attack and that could be a great asset for the player as he looks to make his name in the side.
Miller has often played for Canada U16 team but one of his best performances came with Fulham as the London U16 side went on to win the Paderborn Cup in 2016. Not much is known about the talent but many are suggesting that he could be the next big thing to come out from North American football.
The youngster did move from Fulham to Liverpool in hopes of continuing his football career and working with one of the best youth academies in the world should help him hone his skills and get better in the coming years.
Miller though is far away from making the final cut of the academy. He would have to prove his ability in the team first before any progress can be made but the fact that he can play across the field does make him an asset for the team.
Liverpool have had many attacking youngsters come through the ranks with some of them going to make a big name for themselves such as Raheem Sterling but a fair few of them have ended up in obscurity and have not been able to even stay in the in the top league also.
The Canadian needs to work extremely hard and that is something every player in the Liverpool academy would need to do. One thing is a certainty; Miller would be given the chances should he do well at the club. We have seen Jurgen Klopp give chances to the likes of Sheyi Ojo and even Kevin Stewart in recent games and the platform to perform will always be there in the side.
The striker now has the ball at his feet and he needs to prove his ability to the scouts and coaches at the club. The future does look bright for the 16-year-old but he has to be at the top of his game and put in the countless hours needed to become a fantastic prospect for not only Liverpool but also Canada.
