Lanzini On The Left, Ayew Up Front – Strongest 3-4-3 West Ham Line-up To Face Chelsea

Predicted West Ham United Line-up To Face Chelsea In The Premier League

David Moyes had to leave Etihad as a frustrated man as his West Ham side put on a solid performance but had nothing to show for it. David Silva’s late goal meant that the Hammers remained at 19th spot, three points off safety, and they are not expected to make much progress this weekend, as they welcome defending champions Chelsea to the London Stadium.

Antonio Conte’s men are fresh off of a draw against Atletico Madrid in the UCL and have been in decent form in the domestic league. But the Hammers could prove tough to beat, like they were at the Etihad.

Team News

Chiekhou Kouyate, who picked up a niggle in the last game, along with Sam Byram, Andy Carroll, James Collins, Jose Fonte, Javier Hernandez, Winston Reid and Jose Hart are all but ruled out for this tie, giving Moyes further headaches. Michail Antonio is facing a race to fitness ahead of this tie and might only make the bench.

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: David Moyes

GK – Adrian

With Joe Hart out injured, Adrian, who was exceptional at the Etihad, should continue to start between the sticks for West Ham.

CB – Declan Rice

The youngster has been used regularly in the last few games and though he needs to improve, he is the only option for Moyes in this game.

Angelo Ogbonna

CB – Angelo Ogbonna

The Italian defender has had to play at the heart of the backline due to injuries to first-team stars. He will hope to keep close to Morata and keep his danger to the minimum.

CB – Aaron Cresswell

The left-back has had to fill in at CB recently, thanks to the number of injuries in the squad and he has done a decent enough job to retain his spot in the backline.

RWB – Pablo Zabaleta

The veteran full-back had a role to play against his former side last weekend and will hope that his side can put in a similar performance.

CM – Edimilson Fernandes

Moyes is not afraid of using youngsters and the 21-year old Fernandes, who has settled in well in the midfield under the manager, is expected to keep his place in the side.

CM – Pedro Obiang

Partnering him should be Obiang, who is expected to add some mettle to the midfield and counter the danger from the likes of Kante and Fabregas.

LWB – Arthur Masuaku

Arguably the best player for the Hammers against City, Masuaku will hope to put in a good shift this weekend as well.

Andre Ayew

RW – Marko Arnautovic

Only started from the bench in the previous game but is now fully fit and should start this game on the right-hand side of the attack.

LW – Manuel Lanzini

The Argentine was ineffective against City and cannot afford to put in a similar performance against the defending champions.

ST – Andre Ayew

With Carroll, Antonio and Chicharito all out injured, Ayew remains Moyes’ best option to lead the attack in this game.

Here is how West Ham might line up:
