Lacazette and Aubameyang to start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Arsenal XI to face Newcastle United

Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Newcastle United in the Premier League

After a tough start against two of the big boys, Arsenal have regained some form after winning against West Ham and Cardiff City. Now a tricky trip to Newcastle awaits the Gunners before the Europa League adventure commences.

Unai Emery would be keen to continue this run of winning games and close the gap on top-four. Newcastle will be a tough game as Rafa Benitez will set his side to defend deep and hit on the counter. Arsenal need to find spaces with patient passing and probing play.

Team News

Sead Kolasinac, Laurent Koscielny and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are the long-term absentees. Alex Iwobi was out of Cardiff clash due to illness but expect him to be back in the fold. Apart from the long-term casualties, Emery has a wide enough squad to choose his line-up from.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Petr Cech (GK)

The manager has been adamant to continue giving Cech a chance in goal. This is despite buying a new goalkeeper Bernd Leno in the summer and the trend should continue.

Hector Bellerin (RB)

The Spaniard should improve his crossing for this game, playing against a deep-defending team.

Shkodran Mustafi

Skhodran Mustafi (CB)

The German has been solid alongside Sokratis at the back. He is expected to be up against Salomon Rondon in a physical tussle.

Sokratis (CB)

He has been secure and safe at the back for the Gunners. Doesn’t look fazed by the fact that this is his first season in the Premier League.

Nacho Monreal (LB)

The Spaniard performs on a consistent level and expect him to do the same when he starts on Saturday.

Matteo Guendouzi (CM)

The youngster has been tremendous so far, contributing in central midfield as if he is an experienced player with a decade of Premier League football under his belt. One of the great finds by Arsenal.

Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka (CM)

The Swiss international knows Lucas Torreira is around the corner to start regularly in midfield. For that reason, he has cut down his mistakes or he may become the replacement for the Uruguayan.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (LW/SS)

Aubameyang should start at left-wing or as a support striker to Lacazette. The evidence of their chemistry was there to witness against Cardiff.

Aaron Ramsey (CAM)

The Welshman has been impressive in an advanced midfield role, relieving him of proper defensive duties in central midfield.

Mesut Ozil (RW)

The German got a two-week off as he has retired from national duty. So he should be fresh and raring to go, starting with the Newcastle game.

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

The Frenchman deserves to start up front. He has been superb this season even from the bench. Arsenal look more dangerous with him on the pitch.
