Jota and Bonatini Sign New Contracts, Conor Coady – Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ideal Transfer Window

It’s all coming up roses for Wolverhampton Wanderers fans right now; an organised team with a good coach and owners who want to back him to the hilt with plenty of transfer funds.

Naturally there are some key assets at Molineux that Wolves will want to keep hold of, however, there is no immediate danger when it comes to the likes of Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Costa or Ruben Neves so fans should have no worries about them leaving.

News emerged a month or so ago that Liverpool were eyeing a move for Romain Saiss, however that would appear to be just paper talk in Morocco and in any case with their buying power it would not be overly difficult for Wolves to replace the midfielder.

Wolves Have To Hold On To Their Stars

The club stated they also want a new striker in to take the weight off Leo Bonatini, though the improvement in the 23-year-old Brazilian is such that the policy seems to have shifted from bringing in another marquee signing for big money to instead looking to tempt Bournemouth into first recalling and then selling Lewis Grabban.

There’s little doubt that so far the most effective attacking talent in the ranks this season has been Diogo Jota, though I reckon he managed to hit the ground running at Wolves and so the high-performance levels we are seeing now was also evidence in August and September.

Leo Bonatini

Bonatini though is the one, having improved from the bunch and could end up being the best of the lot. His movement and finishing power look more top drawer stuff and so a top-five league team will want him soon enough.

Both Bonatini and Jota are only at the club on loan at present, a situation the club have apparently been keen to correct next month as a priority over any new signings.

One last potential outgoing for fans to deal with has been that of Conor Coady. Originally a midfielder, Coady was switched to right-back last season and this year has been the focal part of Wolves’ back three and has improved immensely.

Newcastle United were interested in the former Liverpool man but he has become so important for Nuno Santo that it is crucial they keep hold of him beyond the next transfer window.

See, new signings aside, a great window for Wolves would probably mean permanent deals for Jota and Bonatini and no sale of Conor Coady.
