Predicted Fulham Line-up To Face Hull City In EFL Championship
They played him in the forward line – they won. Yet again my gripe about Ryan Sessegnon is proved correct and it’s the most frustrating thing about Fulham this season!
Let’s hope the young man is given the chance to do that here again with Ayite and Ojo perhaps partnering him in a front three.
Tom Cairney is not particularly suited to the 4-3-3 formation Slavisa Jokanovic keeps deploying and may be rested for the busy Christmas and New Year period with Oliver Norwood given a chance this time.
Probable Fulham XI
GK – Marcus Bettinelli
Still just about holding off David Button for this role and should be asked to start here, though he needs to keep his performance level high in order to stay in the team.
RB – Ryan Fredericks
Provides good attacking support to Ojo and others down the Fulham right with another lung-busting performance needed this time to get three points for Fulham against a beatable Hull City.
CB – Tomas Kalas
Is well used to the working relationship he has with Ream and looks likely to continue the same at Hull.
CB – Tim Ream
A goalscoring performance from the American last time and another start is on the cards for the experienced central defender.
LB – Dennis Odoi
Alright, he’s no Scott Malone but he is as competent a defender as Sessegnon and him coming in allows the teen sensation to play further forward.
RCM – Oliver Norwood
May be asked to supply cover for a rested Cairney on the right of the central midfield three.
CM – Kevin McDonald
Other more forward thinking midfielders may come and go in this side but McDonald’s contribution remains crucial.
LCM – Stefan Johansen
Likes a more central role and is very capable of getting forward and scoring crucial goals.
RW – Sheyi Ojo
New signings may yet come in but for now, the on-loan Liverpool man will be the first choice on the right wing.
LW – Ryan Sessegnon
Once again, just like magic, Sessegnon was moved to the front three and scored one and made one. His Whoscored.com average rating at left-back is just 6.67 with no goals to show for from that position. In contrast, it is 6.97 (1 goal, 1 assist from 3 games) in this position and 7.86 (3 games, 4 goals, 1 assist) when playing on the left of a 4-2-3-1. He must play further forward.
ST – Floyd Ayite
Fulham need a proper No.9 in January but for now, Ayite can compete with Rui Fonte for the central position up front.
