Wilder To Make 1 Big Change – Strongest 3-4-1-2 Sheffield United Line-Up To Face Bolton

Predicted Sheffield United Line-up To Face Bolton Wanderers In EFL Championship

The Blades are right back on it after a great fight back at Aston Villa from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 before demolishing Sunderland on Boxing Day. Now they have another very winnable game against Bolton Wanderers.

David Brooks may miss out again although Chris Wilder is likely to stick with his 3-4-1-2 formation for this one with Mark Duffy sitting in behind the two strikers.

Clayton Donaldson has been in good form but may be rested here with Billy Sharp given an outing up front while Simon Moore may be asked to continue in goal, with Jamal Blackman still waiting for another chance to get back in:

Probable Sheffield United XI

GK – Simon Moore

Has fought his way into the starting XI at the expense of Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman but will need to keep working hard to keep the young ‘keeper at bay.

CB – Cameron Carter-Vickers

The on-loan Tottenham man has been earning rave reviews to the extent that rumours have been circulating that the North London side would recall him in January, though this now looks unlikely.

CB – Richard Stearman

Brings tons of experience to the side which is in need of it. Score last time out.

Cameron Carter-Vickers

CB – Jack O’Connell

Part of a well-balanced defence but one which may be troubled a little more than it was against Sunderland.

RWB – George Baldock

A goalscoring performance at right wing-back last time against Sunderland and surely another confident performance is on the cards.

LWB – Enda Stevens

The former Portsmouth man is performing well down the left-hand side and his contribution should not be overlooked in what United have achieved so far this season.

CM – Chris Basham

Solid in the midfield of late and likely to start once again at Bramall Lane.

CM – John Lundstram

Scored last time out and so he will be full of confidence and should have no trouble in getting the better of this Bolton midfield alongside Basham.

Billy Sharp

CAM – Mark Duffy

It would be great to see Brooks in this role but for now, Duffy will continue to support the front two.

ST – Leon Clarke

The striker has been in great form this season and will be feared by Bolton here given his recent record. Clarke has scored 14 Championship goals this term and was given a rest with 6 minutes to play against Sunderland.

ST – Billy Sharp

Could come in to partner the prolific Clarke up front with Donaldson dropping to the bench for now.
