Is This How Arsenal Will Line-up This Season? Not A Lot Of Personnel Changes But The System Gets Tweaked

Arsenal have been fairly quiet in the transfer window, they did make that one big signing which could solve all their problems at the back. Petr Cech leaving Chelsea to sign for Arsenal is a pretty big deal for both the player and the club. This could be the deal that pushes Arsenal into championship position next season.

While that position is more or less sorted, Arsenal still have a lot of players who are fighting it out for a few positions and with more players returning from injury or getting their fitness again, Arsene Wenger will have a few tough choices to make. We look at how Arsenal could line-up next season with all these big players raring to go.

Not a lot of personnel changes but the system gets tweaked

Cech starts in goal, there really is no option apart from playing the Chelsea legend and hopefully future Arsenal legend. He can provide the leadership and stability that Arsenal have needed from a top goalkeeper for a few years and Ospina should be the understudy for Cech at the moment (if at all he isn’t sold).

The back four doesn’t really change a lot for Arsenal, Koscielny and Mertesacker should play in the centre of defence while Gibbs and Monreal should play as the left backs. Debuchy, Chambers and Bellerin should deputise in between, maybe Debuchy could get a longer run in place of Bellerin, if he stays fit.

The midfield is the biggest place to get a tweak, Arsenal have seen that playing a fit Jack Wilshere in a deeper role is actually better than playing him in a more attacking role and that is exactly what he should do, Wilshere should play in a three man midfield in a deeper role and he should be supported by a defensive midfield, this season it should be Francis Coquelin thanks to his impressive performances last season.

The other player in midfield who can chip in with a through ball or two is Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey could play in the place of Ozil or Coquelin when it is needed. The forward line should see Olivier Giroud continue his role as the goal scorer for the club, the Frenchman is the leading hitman for the club and that should not change.

He should be helped with Alexis Sanchez on one side while the other side should see the return of a fully fit Theo Walcott. There are a few players who missed out on a starting line-up but the season is a tough one and they will have chances to prove what they can do for the club.

Considering Arsenal’s history with injuries and suspension the likes of Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade -Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky will play a huge part as the season goes into the crucial stages.
