Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Huddersfield Town in the Premier League

Liverpool are winless in their last 4 games and Jurgen Klopp will be aiming to get back to winning ways against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League this weekend. The Merseyside club travel to the John Smith’s stadium and will be confident of coming away with a win.

Huddersfield have been very poor this season and are struggling to find the back of the net. Liverpool will want to kick off their kind run of fixtures with a win against the Terriers.

Team News

Klopp will definitely be frustrated with the number of players who suffered injuries during the international break. Apart from Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita is out as well whereas Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are doubts for this game. Van Dijk is fit to return for this fixture.

Probable Liverpool XI

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian has been exceptional for the Reds this season. He will continue in goal for this game as well.

Alisson

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The right-back can profit from Huddersfield’s fragility at the back. His raids have been very fruitful.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB)

The Dutchman has been a stalwart at the back for Liverpool this season. He will play, after overcoming a rib issue.

Joe Gomez (CB)

Though Gomez had a mediocre outing for England in mid-week, he should partner Van Dijk at the back.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

The Scotland international is currently the most consistent player in the squad. He will continue at left-back.

Joe Gomez

Georginio Wijnaldum (RCM)

The Dutchman has been impressive with his ball retention and bullish defending in the middle of the park.

Fabinho (CM)

The new signing should be handed his first start for the club in this game.

Jordan Henderson (LCM)

Henderson’s passing needs to be on point in this game, with the Reds’ attack very much depleted.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RW)

Now would be a good time for the Swiss winger to step up and announce himself as a Liverpool player. He has looked energetic so far.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Daniel Sturridge (ST)

Sturridge will lead the line for the Reds against Huddersfield Town. The striker will be confident after being awarded the club’s player of the month award.

Roberto Firmino (LW)

Injuries could see Firmino shifted out to the left wing. He is versatile enough to fulfil the role.
