Predicted Sheffield United line-up to face Wigan in the Championship

Sheffield United will welcome Wigan Athletic to the Bramall Lane as Chris Wilder hopes to bounce back to winning ways in the Championship.

The Blades drew 1-1 with Stoke City earlier in the week that saw Wilder drop two crucial points at home. Wilder, however, will expect his boys to put in a better display against Wigan and claim all three points.

Wigan, on the other hand, come into this game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Millwall.

Team News

Chris Wilder will have a full squad to choose his line-up from. There are no injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s encounter.

Probable Sheffield United XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Chris Wilder

Dean Henderson (GK)

Henderson has been fantastic in goal for the Blades and will retain his place in the starting XI against Wigan.

Chris Basham (RCB)

Basham needs to be extra careful as he is on four yellow cards at the moment.

John Egan (CB)

A pillar at the back, Egan has been consistent with his performances and deserves to keep his place in the team.

Jake O’Connell (LCB)

O’Connell is an adventurous, ball-playing defender who is adept at building attacks from the back.

Kieron Freeman (RWB)

Freeman offers width down the right and is defensively diligent as well. He is a certain starter for the weekend fixture.

Oliver Norwood

Enda Stevens (LWB)

Stevens is arguably the best full-back Wilder has in his squad. Stevens has nailed down a regular place in the team and is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Oliver Norwood (CM)

Norwood is set to retain his place in the engine room. He is a very good passer of the ball and an intelligent player who reads the game very well.

John Fleck (CM)

Fleck should start alongside Norwood in the middle of the park against the Latics. He is a good recycler of the ball and knows to keep possession in tight spaces.

Mark Duffy (CAM)

A shrewd customer who knows to pick up pockets of spaces, Duffy is the ideal player for the No.10 role in the team.

Leon Clarke (RS)

Clarke scored in the previous game and will be raring to get on the scoresheet this weekend.

David McGoldrick (LS)

McGoldrick is very good at hold-up play and should partner Clarke up top against Wigan.
