Predicted Crystal Palace Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Crystal Palace will embark on a trip to the Turf Moor this weekend, as they gear up to take on Burnley at the Turf Moor on Sunday, in match-week four of the Premier League.

The Eagles have had a difficult initiation to things under new boss Frank de Boer and are one of the three teams to have not registered even a single point after three rounds of fixtures. The tie against Sean Dyche’s Clarets is a crucial game for the former Ajax and Inter Milan boss as he finds himself under tremendous amount of pressure this early into the season.

Team News

Injuries to key members are going to hamper De Boer more as he will be without the services of star attacker Wilfried Zaha, along with loan signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Defender James Tomkins too is set to miss out, along with the likes of Pape Souaré and Bakary Sako. New signings Jairo Riedewald and Mamadou Sakho are also doubts for the game, while Connor Wickham remains the long-term casualty.

Manager: Frank de Boer

Formation: 3-5-2

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

The Welsh international is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Eagles and will stay so against the Clarets on Sunday.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah (CB)

The loanee from Manchester United has impressed despite his team’s struggles and will start in the three-man defence for Palace.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Scott Dann (CB)

The 30-year old will take the central position of the back three for the visitors. Needs to step it up a notch and organise things well at the back.

Martin Kelly (CB)

With Tomkins, Riedewald and Sakho all missing out, the former Liverpool man could be set for a starting role as the final one of the three centre-halves.

Joel Ward (RWB)

The 27-year old right-back hasn’t looked all that great as a wing-back and needs to take his game a level up in the coming weeks.

James McArthur (CM)

In the middle of the park, it will be the 29-year old James McArthur. The midfielder has been the only goal-scorer for the Eagles this season, scoring a brace in their cup victory over Ipswich Town. De Boer will be hoping for more sparks from him.

Jason Puncheon

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

The 26-year old Serbian midfielder will occupy the deepest central midfield position and look to shield his defence.

Jason Puncheon (CM)

The captain will occupy the final position in the central midfield and will want to impact the game more than what he has been able to do so far this season.

Patrick van Aanholt (LWB)

Continuing on the left-flank, ahead of Jeffrey Schlupp, will be Dutch international Patrick van Aanholt. The former Chelsea and Sunderland man does offer a good outlet down the left-hand side but he needs to step his game up.

Andros Townsend

Andros Townsend (CF)

And as it was seen in the game before the international break, Townsend will continue to operate off the main striker and try to find pockets of space in the final third.

Christian Benteke (ST)

Leading the line-up will be Belgian international Christian Benteke. Hasn’t been at his best, and does look out of place at times. Will want to get off the mark for the season, at the earliest.
