Celtic lineup fitting in Moussa Dembele, Odsonne Edouard and the newly linked Danny Ings

According to reports, Scottish champions Celtic are interested in signing Liverpool outcast Danny Ings.

In October 2015, Ings tore his anterior cruciate ligament during Jurgen Klopp’s first training session as manager before sustaining cartilage damage to the other knee 13 months later in a game against Tottenham Hotspur.

His Liverpool career has been damaged by two nasty ligament injuries and while he returned to full fitness in the second half of the season, the striker was limited to just three starts.

After growing frustrated with his injury problems and a lack of first-team opportunities last term, Ings reportedly wants to leave Anfield in order to resurrect his stuttering career. Celtic have joined the chase for Ings’ signature, the forward who was brought to Liverpool from Burnley by Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic took up an option to buy Odsonne Edouard, who spent last season on loan at the club, as the Hoops added a third striker to their attack. Should Rodgers gets Ings to the Parkhead, here is how Celtic’s attacking line-up will look like with Edouard and Moussa Dembele also in the mix.

Celtic attacking line-up

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-4-2

Scott Brown (CM)

The Celtic captain enjoyed a fantastic season last term, dominating the middle of the park with his combative displays. Strong and robust, Brown’s presence in the midfield will be vital for Celtic next season too.

Olivier Ntcham (CM)

Ntcham enjoyed a decent debut campaign in Scotland, playing an important role in their title-winning campaign, chipping in with plenty of goals and assists in all competitions.

Callum McGregor (RW)

Starting on the right should be McGregor, who will look to provide the creativity and impetus to Celtic’s attack. His influence and overall work-ethic have seen him grow leaps and bounds as a player for the Bhoys over the past couple of seasons.

Moussa Dembele (LW)

Predominantly a centre-forward, Dembele can also play out wide. His pace and trickery can cause endless nightmares to the opposition defenders.

Odsonne Edouard (RS)

Edouard had a fruitful loan spell last season at Parkhead that prompted Celtic to make his move permanent earlier this summer. He scored 11 goals for the Bhoys last season and will be expected to improve in the 2018/19 campaign.

Danny Ings

Danny Ings (LS)

Ings’s career has stalled since moving to Liverpool, due to two horrible ligament injuries. However, the 25-year-old is now back to full fitness and ready to go. A move to Celtic under former boss Brendan Rodgers could be the ideal scenario for the striker to reboot his career.
