Here Are Two Established Players Burnley Should Look To Sign To Fight For The European Places

Sean Dyche

Two Established Players Burnley Need To Sign To Have A shot At European Spots

With 5 wins and 4 draws in 11 Premier League games this season, Sean Dyche’s Burnley are one of the in-form sides in the competition and stand at 7th place in the points table, going into the international break. They have picked points off some of the big guns in the league and the manager will know that they can easily finish in the top half of the table if they show consistency.

With a number of top teams struggling in the top flight, the Clarets can even hope to finish in the top-7 places, giving them a chance to play in the Europa League. Dyche has done extremely well to bring the club to this stage but Burnley will need an extra push in order to qualify for Europe.

Though it is still a distant dream, here are two established players Burnley should sign, to fight for a place in Europe:

Danny Ings (Liverpool)

The 25-year old English striker joined Liverpool from Burnley back in 2015 but has made just 6 senior appearances, thanks to two back-to-back season-ending injuries. He is finally back to full fitness, and scored 4 goals for Liverpool’s U23 side recently, showing that he belongs at the highest level.

Liverpool have too much quality in their first-team to give Ings enough game time and this has seen him get linked with a loan move. A number of PL clubs are interested in his signature but with his previous experience at the Turf Moor, Ings is probably the best option for the Clarets, who have scored just 10 goals in the first 11 games this season.

Aaron Lennon (Everton)

Lennon was linked with a move to Burnley, earlier in the summer. The 30-year old has more than 300 top-flight appearances in his career but has just got 254 minutes on the pitch this season.

He is still capable of winning games on his own and the lack of a genuine winger at the Turf Moor makes Lennon a necessity for Dyche. In a 4-4-2 system, Dyche has used Robby Brady, Scott Arfield and Gudmundsson on the flanks, and Lennon is a natural upgrade on all those names. He will also be available for a cheap price, as he is not a part of the first-team plans at Everton. He could be the man to take them to Europe this season.
