Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho could be subject to a loan move to Stoke City. The Potters are looking for a central defender and according to Liverpool Echo, they are targeting Mamadou Sakho as their defensive option.
Jurgen Klopp had mentioned earlier that he is willing let the French international leave on a temporary move so that he can get more game time. Sakho is currently lower in the pecking order of defenders and is likely to feature sparingly this season. That is if he stays at Liverpool.
Mark Hughes, Stoke City manager may have other things in mind as he is looking to make the troubled defender play for Stoke. Sakho was accused by UEFA of drug abuse in April which caused him to miss Liverpool’s campaign toward the end of the season. He was also sent home from Liverpool’s USA tour for breaking rules and regulation. No longer injured, Sakho is ready to play but will unlikely to play for Liverpool this season.
