Bale-O-Bale – Why The Real Madrid Superstar Can Turn Manchester United Into A European Superpower Again

Manchester United have now spent more than £200m on transfers in the last two summers as Jose Mourinho is desperate to establish the Red Devils as one of the best clubs in the world, after a small break.

The Red Devils finished 6th in the points table but managed to qualify for the Champions League next season, which will give them a chance to lure some of the finest players in the world to the club. They have already added the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof to their side but Mourinho is still desperate for a world class addition to the first team this summer.

And according to a number of reports, Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is right up the wish list of the Portuguese manager this summer.

A product of the Southampton academy, the €80m rated Bale started his career as a left-back but has now turned into one of the best wingers in Europe. He has 54 goals in 100 La Liga appearances in just over four years to add to his 26 goals in 66 appearances for the Welsh national side.

He was the first choice for Zinedine Zidane last season but he failed to keep himself fit, which saw him lose some form and eventually his place in the first team. According to reports from the Independent, Manchester United might finally be able to land the player that they have been scouting, even before he moved to Spain.

The report claims that Real Madrid are looking to sign Kylian Mbappe in a world record bid and are ready to offload the Welsh winger, to raise funds for the Frenchman’s signature. So, is this the chance for United to finally get their hands on their long-term target?

Easily one of the quickest wingers at his stage in Europe, Bale is a smart player who knows how to create chances, even against the toughest of the defences. He can score goals and create them, consistently affecting the game in the final third. At 28, he is at his prime as a footballer; the perfect time for Manchester United to jump on him.

To add to it, Bale will be the talisman in this current United squad as other players around him in the first team would still be establishing themselves at the highest stage in Europe. The likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford are relatively less experienced than Bale, making the Welsh international the MVP at Old Trafford.

This will surely help him improve his game and playing under Mourinho, who he worked for previously, should turn him into a beast.

Surely, Bale is the star man who Manchester United need, to become a European superpower once again.
