Why Liverpool should definitely make a move for AC Milan star Suso

Liverpool were well beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League as they lost all of their three away European games this season. The Reds once again struggled to create straightforward chances as their midfield looked lacklustre.

The Reds’ midfield has been criticised this season for lacking a certain cutting edge and creativity in the final third. As a result, all the pressure on scoring has been placed on the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Klopp signed Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer. However, the manager should definitely dive back into the market for a new midfielder as the Reds’ Champions League hopes are hanging by a thread.

Liverpool should consider bringing back Suso from AC Milan. The 25-year-old was a part of the Reds team many years ago but his chances in the first-team were very limited as Suso extensively played in just domestic cup games.

After a couple of loan spells, the Spaniard was shipped off to the Serie A side. Suso has since gone on to make a major impact in Italy.

Suso has scored 4 goals and provided 8 assists in 14 league appearances this season. He has also got 1 goal in 4 Champions League appearances. He is capable of playing anywhere across the midfield and will certainly fit into Klopp’s high-octane football at Anfield. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

The 25-year-old is superb at creating chances in the final third and possesses immaculate vision. The likes of Mane, Firmino and Salah will surely thrive with Suso pulling the strings behind them. He has also averaged 3.5 shots per game in the Serie A and has proven to be a pest for goalkeepers. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

Suso

Suso is very good at finding spaces before dispatching the forward players. He is a good link-up player and possesses impressive work rate as well. He is also good at long range shots and can take set-pieces too.

A move back to Anfield would be an appealing prospect for the Spaniard. Playing under Klopp will surely help him take his career to the next level and eradicate the Reds’ midfield woes.
