Three Players Who Burnley Should Sign To Fuel Their Europa League Ambitions Next Season

Burnley have qualified for the Europa League next season after Everton played out a 1-1 draw with Southampton last weekend.

The Clarets will finish 7th in the Premier League despite a 5-0 mauling at the hands of Arsenal in Arsene Wenger’s last home game in charge of the North London club.

It is a remarkable achievement from Burnley considering the way Sean Dyche has managed the club with a shoestring budget. They have punched above their weight this campaign and all credits to Dyche for helping the Clarets secure a return to European competition for the first time in 51 years.

With a place in the Europa League playoffs booked, here are three players Burnley should try and sign to advance further in the European competition.

Liam Moore (Reading)

Reading defender Liam Moore has been stellar this season in the Championship. He has proved to be one of Reading’s best signings in recent years and their defence is rarely threatened when the 25-year-old is at the heart of it.

What adds more value to Moore is his versatility to play anywhere in defence and also slot in as a defensive midfielder if required. With his skills and experience, Moore could prove to be an excellent addition to Burnley’s backline.

Yohan Cabaye (Crystal Palace)

Cabaye has proved to be a key performer under Roy Hodgson and has helped Crystal Palace secure safety in the Premier League.

At Palace, the Frenchman has been a solid midfielder, providing an endless stream of creativity for his teammates. Cabaye can be utilised in a number of positions but his most natural position is in a 2-man in midfield.

Due to his outstanding technical ability as well as vision, Cabaye would prove to be a fantastic addition for the Clarets. He would serve as an additional central midfielder and be part of a solid set-up under Sean Dyche.

Daryl Janmaat (Watford)

An experienced and full Dutch international, Janmaat would be a top signing for Burnley in the summer. Janmaat has been plying his trade at Watford and could serve an upgrade to Burnley current right-back, Matt Lowton.

The Dutchman is a marauding full-back, also capable of playing as a winger or as a wing-back. With Watford failing to reach the heights which were expected at the start of the season, the chance to play in Europe could tempt Janmaat to leave Watford for Burnley in summer.
