Manchester United hosted Bayer Leverkusen in the Group A fixture of the Champions League last night which ended with a 4-2 scoreline thanks to from Rooney, Valencia and Robin Van Persie. Rooney’s two goals was his 199th and 200th goal in a United shirt which gave them a winning start to the campaign.
Amidst all the controversies surrounding David Moyes and Wayne Rooney, United managed to dominate the game right from the start and once they got the lead, there was no stopping them and once again, it was Wayne Rooney that ran the show. Although Van Perise managed a wonderful goal and Leverkusen managed to score an equaliser, it was Rooney’s day as he made history by scoring 200 goals for the club.
However, he managed to miss a rather easy chance after getting past the on rushing Leverkusen keeper.
