Stoke City were only able to come away with a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend as the pressure mounts on Gary Rowett. The Potters are now 1 point above the relegation zone and are going to be in real trouble if an immediate response is not shown against Swansea City.
The Swans were unable to get past Nottingham Forest and finished the game 0-0 but are in good form going into this game. Gary Rowett definitely has to come away with a win to ease the pressure.
James McClean is still out due to an injury and will miss out on this game as well. Apart from long-term absentees Sam Clucas and Ibrahim Afellay, Stoke have a fully fit squad. Slight changes can be expected from the manager as he aims to freshen things up.
Butland should continue in goal despite showing a dip in his form this season. Nevertheless, the goalkeeper is an excellent shot-stopper.
The Everton loanee has looked comfortable on the right flank and should start this game as well.
Shawcross is the leader at the back for Stoke City and his presence will be vital for the Potters.
Williams has looked good after making the loan move from Everton. He should partner Shawcross in this game.
Pieters is fit enough to play consecutive games and should start in this one as well.
Fletcher was benched for the game against Sheffield Wednesday and should start in the middle of the park.
Allen’s quick passing and distribution has always been a massive asset for the Potters. Gary Rowett will need more of the same from the Welshman.
Bojan should be given a run against Swansea City. The former Barcelona man tends to step up in big games.
Ince is yet to hit full stride for the Potters this season but his supply down the right side has been good.
Afobe scored a brace against Sheffield Wednesday during the weekend and is Stoke’s main source of threat going into this game.
Diouf should continue at left-wing given that James McClean is still out injured.
