Forget Courtois – Here Are 3 Super Goalkeepers Chelsea Could Look To Sign

Share

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are in a great position in the points table this season as they stand 7 points off the teams below them at the moment. The manager will know that his team have to work hard until the end to lift the trophy but he is now having other issues to worry about as he will have to work on his squad for the rest of his tenure at the club. The manager has used Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois as his first choice this season but Spanish giants Real Madrid are now plotting a move for him at the end of the season. Courtois is also evidently happy to make the switch to Spain leaving Chelsea in search of another goalkeeper. The search is already on with Conte plotting moves for some star players recently and here are 3 like to like replacements for Courtois that can keep Chelsea strong:

Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan):

The 17-year old Italian international is arguably the most exciting talent in world football at the moment and he is being scouted by top clubs like Manchester United and Juventus for a move at the end of the season. The shot-stopper is the first choice for AC Milan in the league this season and he has already produced some brilliant performances to keep his side close to the top of the table. He is integral to the plans at the San Siro with AC Milan readying a bumper new deal but Chelsea are desperate and can lure him out this summer. Surely, the 17-year old can grow on to become a top class player for the Blues.

Joe Hart (Manchester City):

It is hard not to include the English international who is out on loan at Torino at the moment. Joe Hart, who is the first choice shot-stopper for the English national team, was adjudged not good enough for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and was sent out on loan at the start of the season. But Hart is not happy in Italy and has been plotting a move back to England for while now. The likes of Liverpool are extensively linked with a move for Hart recently but Chelsea, who need an established shot stopper for the first team, need not look further. Hart has had his critics and is also branded as error-prone, but there is no doubt about his quality and he will surely walk into this Chelsea side to replace Courtois next season.

Jordan Pickford (Sunderland):

The young Englishman is making some waves in the Premier League this season with his sublime performances for the struggling Black Cats this season. The 22-year old has been the best player for Sunderland after Jermaine Defoe at the other end as he helped them to stay in games with his prowess in between the sticks. He is one of the most exciting players in his position in the league and is already circled by the Premier League giants for a move this summer. Sunderland are adamant that they want to keep hold of him for a long time but Chelsea, who should not have a problem meeting his valuation, might not find it too hard to lure him out of the Stadium of Light at the end of the season.
