Fantastic Milner – The Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players From Their 4-0 Win Over Everton

Share

Liverpool ran riot against Everton in the Merseyside derby. Goals from Divock Origi, Mamadou Sakho, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho made it a match to remember for Jurgen Klopp but Everton manager Roberto Martinez will be contemplating his next FA Cup tie as the side lost out John Stones to injury and Funes Mori was sent off for a reckless challenge on Divock Origi.

Liverpool were the better side and dominated the game after the first 15 minutes and deserved their win. We look back at the game and share the player ratings for the Reds.

Simon Mignolet – 6/10

The only reason Mignolet got a low rating was that after the first 20 minutes he didn’t have to do anything in the game.

Nathaniel Clyne – 7/10

The English defender bombed down the right side and joined the attack really well, he did have a good chance late in the game but an impressive performance by the right-back.

Dejan Lovren – 7/10

Another stellar performance by the Croatian who kept Romelu Lukaku in his pocket in this game.

Mamadou Sakho – 8/10

Sakho had a difficult start to the game but he did grow into it as he produced a number of interceptions and also scored the second goal for the Reds.

Alberto Moreno – 7/10

The Spaniard had little to do in defence after the first 30 minutes and the joined the Liverpool attack throughout the remainder of the game. He had a couple of shots on goal but nothing to trouble the Everton goalkeeper.

Lucas Leiva – 8/10

Lucas was immense in midfield and even though there were fears that he could get overrun, he was excellent in nullifying Barry in midfield.

James Milner – 9/10

The star of the show, with Jordan Henderson and Emre Can missing, Milner was pulling the strings in midfield and had a hand in a couple of goals as well.

Roberto Firmino – 6/10

Firmino lacked match sharpness in this game, he did have a couple of neat flicks but nothing too special from the Brazilian.

Adam Lallana – 8/10

Adam Lallana was all energy for the Reds and linked up really well with the attack, he didn’t get on the scoresheet but this was one of his best performances against his boyhood club.

Philippe Coutinho – 8/10

Coutinho got his goal or did he? The Brazilian seemed to have scored but Sturridge seems to have claimed the effort, only the dubious goals panel can decide this.

Divock Origi – 6/10

Origi was poor in the first half until he scored the first goal of the game. He was taken off injured after a tackle from Funes Mori and Liverpool fans will hope that the Belgian is back soon.

Substitutes:

Daniel Sturridge – 7/10

Sturridge did get his goal as he looks to get back his match fitness and sharpness. A pretty good game for the England international.

Joe Allen – 7/10

The Welsh Xavi came on and didn’t really do a lot wrong.

Jordon Ibe – NA

Ibe was brought on as a late substitute but couldn’t do much in the game.
