Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Liverpool In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur may have managed to steal a point from their trip to the Santiago Bernabeu in the UCL group stage fixture but it only gets tougher for Spurs, who will now face a dangerous Liverpool at Wembley. The last time Spurs played at their home, they came out with a narrow victory over the Cherries and will hope to put in a similar performance against Jurgen Klopp’s men this Sunday.

The Reds are fresh from a 0-0 draw to Manchester United in the league which was followed by a 7-0 drubbing of Maribor in the Champions League. They will be high on confidence and will have a shot at all three points, especially with Pochettino having an eye on Real Madrid’s trip to Wembley not too long later.

Team News

The game comes too soon for the likes of Lamela, Wanyama and Dembele, who will not feature against the Reds. Alli is available for selection after missing the Champions League clash against Real Madrid due to suspension. Ben Davies is fit to play while Danny Rose is fit enough to claim his place on the bench. (BBC)

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Hugo Lloris

The French international was solid at the back at the Bernabeu and will hope to put in a similar performance this weekend against Liverpool.

RWB – Kieran Trippier

Though Aurier was effective, Pochettino should use the experience of Trippier in the English league, to keep the likes of Coutinho and Moreno silent in this tie.

Kieran Trippier

CB – Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian ace is one of the first names on the team sheet for Pochettino and there is no way the Argentine gaffer would drop him from the line-up.

CB – Davinson Sanchez

The youngster has been superb in the backline for Spurs and should start alongside Alderweireld and Vertonghen to help keep Liverpool at bay.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

After an effective performance against Bournemouth at left-back, Vertonghen might be used in his usual CB role as Davies is back from his injury.

LWB – Ben Davies

Davies has become an integral part of this Tottenham team and he should start this game, now that he is fit and available for selection.

CM – Eric Dier

The English international has been superb playing as the deepest of the midfielders and will have a huge role to play against a free-flowing Liverpool attack.

Harry Winks will develop into a superstar in the future.

CM – Harry Winks

With Mousa Dembele unavailable, Pochettino should stick with Harry Winks in central midfield. He should start alongside Eric Dier

RAM – Christian Eriksen

The Danish international is easily one of the most in-form players for Spurs at the moment and will be the danger man to Liverpool in this tie.

LAM – Dele Alli

Having missed out on the trip to Spain due to a suspension, Alli will be back in action this weekend and should start on the left-hand side of the attack.

ST – Harry Kane

The English international is easily the best striker in the country at the moment and will be up against the likes of Lovren and Matip, who have not been at their best so far this season.

Here is how Tottenham might line up:
