Predicted Watford Lineup To Face West Brom

Watford FC will welcome Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion to the Vicarage Road on Tuesday night for the midweek round of fixtures in the Premier League.

The Hornets broke their four-game winless run on Saturday, notching up a 1-0 win against Sunderland at home and will be hoping to build on the performance. Walter Mazzarri’s men find themselves at 12th position in the league and a win would propel them into the top ten in the league. The last time the two went head to head, the Baggies thrashed Watford 3-1 at the Hawthorns.

Team News

Watford could go into the game without the services of veteran defender Younes Kaboul, who was taken off against Sunderland due to a hamstring injury. Midfielder Valon Behrami is a slight doubt as his fitness is being monitored on a day to day basis, while Ben Watson and Christian Kabasele also remain unavailable. Mauro Zarate and Roberto Pereyra have been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Watford Probable XI:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Walter Mazzarri

Walter Mazzarri

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

In the goal, it will be experienced shot-stopper, Heurelho Gomes. The Brazilian has put in some fine displays for Watford in between the sticks and will continue to start.

Daryl Janmaat (RB)

At right-back, we expect a change, with Daryl Janmaat getting a look in into the playing XI after he replaced the injured Younes Kaboul in the last game.

Craig Cathcart (CB)

With Kaboul unavailable and Janmaat coming in at right-back, it will mean Craig Cathcart moving into the heart of the defence.

Miguel Britos (CB)

Alongside Cathcart, it will be Saturday’s hero Miguel Britos in the centre of the back four. The former Napoli man scored the only goal against Sunderland and will be high on confidence.

Jose Holebas (LB)

Greek defender Jose Holebas will start the game at left-back. The 32-year old has been a constant figure in the line-up when fit and will be hoping to make an impact on the game.

Etienne Capoue (CM)

In central midfield, it will be the ever-present Etienne Capoue. The former Tottenham man has been one of the best performers for Watford this season and is a certain starter.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

With Valon Behrami likely to miss out, we expect Abdoulaye Doucoure to keep his place in the starting XI against the Baggies on Tuesday.

Tom Cleverley (CM)

Occupying the third central midfield position will be Tom Cleverley. The former Manchester United and Everton man will look to impress against West Brom.

Nordin Amrabat (RW)

On the right-flank, we expect Nordin Amrabat to continue in the starting XI, ahead of Isaac Success. The 30-year old made his return from injury against Crystal Palace before the international break and started the game on Saturday, expect him to take the field against West Brom as well.

Troy Deeney (ST)

Up front, it will be club’s top goal-scorer Troy Deeney. The captain sat out of the game against Sunderland but should be reinstated to the line-up in place of Stefano Okaka.

M’Baye Niang (LW)

Completing the line-up will be the loan signing M’Baye Niang. The AC Milan loanee has made a great impact since arriving and was excellent against Sunderland. He is a sure starter.

Here’s how they may take the field:
