Liverpool seem to be inching closer to finalizing a deal for Nigerian duo of Jacob Njoku and Chidera Ejike with both the 18 year olds set to undergo a two week trial with the club at Melwood. Their agent Babwo Mohammed has confirmed to the All Nigeria Soccer that the duo has received their Visas and will be travelling to the UK to undergo the trials.
Ejike is a highly rated midfielder often compared to the legendary Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta while Njoku is a former Porto Youth player. Liverpool have been tracking the players for some time now and will be keen to wrap up the deal at the earliest. However, the duo is taking nothing for granted are keen to prove their talent to the hierarchy at Liverpool.
Mohammed, who represents both players, says his clients are looking to earn permanent deals. “Njoku and Ejike are in Liverpool already,” he told website AllNigeriaSoccer. “We arrived in England around 2pm on Saturday, they are starting training Sunday.”
The Merseyside club are aware that should they sign both or either of them, they will not be eligible to play in the UK since they do not possess a work permit Visa and have already found a way to mitigate the effects of the same by loaning them to the Belgian side Sint-Truidense VV.
