The much awaited transfer window has finally come alive with the first major transfer. Liverpool and Chelsea have completed the business of Daniel Sturridge. The England international has made a switch to the Merseyside club for an undisclosed fee.
Sturridge, who wanted a move away from Stamford Bridge for sometime has finally got his dream come true. Talking to the press after signing for the Reds, Sturridge said:
“Brendan Rodgers said he sees me here for a long time and I also see myself here for a long time. I’ve not signed here to play for a couple of years and then move.”
“I’m humbled and happy to be here,” the 23-year-old told liverpoolfc.com . “I’ve not signed here to play for a couple of years and then move on.
“I’ve signed to be here for as long as possible. It’s a humongous club – for me, one of the biggest in the world.”
