Crystal Palace signing this 27-year-old powerhouse would make them a rock-solid unit next season

Crystal Palace opinion: Should the Eagles sign Jean Michael Seri?

According to Football.London, Crystal Palace could lose out on Fulham star Jean Michael Seri. The 27-year-old has already told Fulham that he will not be staying with the club and that has seen the Eagles take a keen interest.

Crystal Palace are interested in a move for the Ivory Coast star, offering a loan deal with an option to make things permanent. But Football.London has further added that the 27-year-old is still on the fence about staying in England, with offers available to go back to France.

Jean Michael Seri arrived last summer from OGC Nice to join Fulham. However, like most of Fulham’s summer spend, the 27-year-old underperformed at Craven Cottage in a season that saw Fulham get relegated.

Despite most of his performances in the Premier League this season, Seri still remains a class act. The 27-year-old is arguably one of the best midfielders that Crystal Palace could get without spending a pretty penny.

And the Eagles need one midfielder especially given how badly Max Meyer has struggled. The German was supposed to be the great creative hope for the club but instead, spent most of the season walking off the bench.

As a free transfer, Palace could not have hoped for someone better than Meyer but things have not gone according to plan.

But things still might change in his second season with the club but Palace need another option. James McArthur has struggled for most of the season, and so has Cheikhou Kouyate, which does leave manager Roy Hodgson with just Luka Milivojevic.

While the Serbian has done well for himself, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League alone, he’s a defensive midfielder. He isn’t the box-to-box creative midfielder that Jean Michael Seri is.

A brilliant player on his day, Seri has the ability and the talent to play for a top level club but inconsistency has been his biggest issue, which could be because Fulham have majorly underperformed this season. Nevertheless, the Ivory Coast international still remains a worthy candidate to have for a club like Crystal Palace.

Conclusion

Crystal Palace needs a classy world-class star or at least someone close to that and Jean Michael Seri is that player.

The midfielder needs a new start at a new club and a chance to prove the world that he can still make it in the Premier League. That alone should be an incentive for Palace to convince him to stay in England.
