Chris Wood To Lead The Line – Strongest 4-4-1-1 Burnley Line-Up To Face Watford On Saturday

Predicted Burnley Line-up To Face Watford In The Premier League

Burnley will look to get back to winning ways when they face off against Watford in gameweek 16 of the Premier League, at the Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Clarets succumbed to a rare 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City this past weekend, but they continue to stay at 7th place in the league table, three points ahead of their Saturday’s opponents who are stationed at 8th position. Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping to pull further away from Marco Silva’s men by collecting all the three points at home.

Team News

Robbie Brady will be ruled out for a considerable amount of time for the Clarets after he underwent a surgery following a knee injury he picked up last weekend against Leicester. He joins the likes of captain Tom Heaton and summer signing Jon Walters on the long-term absentees’ list. Defender Matthew Lowton and midfielder Dean Marney are also major doubts for the game.

Here’s how Burnley might line up against the Hornets at the weekend:

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Nick Pope (GK)

The England international has been a brilliant replacement for the injured Tom Heaton. Should start between the sticks.

Phil Bardsley (RB)

With Matthew Lowton still an injury doubt, the veteran defender should get another start under his belt at right-back.

James Tarkowski (CB)

The 25-year old has been solid as a rock in the Clarets’ backline and will look to continue in a similar way when he faces former teammate Andre Gray.

Ben Mee (CB)

The former Manchester City defender has been equally strong at the back for Dyche’s side and will look to put up a good display against Watford.

Stephen Ward (LB)

The Republic of Ireland international should continue to start at left-back for the Clarets ahead of summer signing Charlie Taylor.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (RM)

The Iceland wide-man has been a permanent fixture on the right flank for Burnley this season. This is unlikely to change for the weekend and he should start this game.

Steven Defour (CM)

In the middle of the park, Belgian midfielder Steven Defour has established himself as the first-choice for Dyche. A definite starter.

Jack Cork (CM)

The recently capped England international has struck up a wonderful partnership along with Defour and will look to continue that against the Hornets.

Chris Wood

Scott Arfield (LM)

With Robbie Brady set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Canadian winger Scott Arfield should see a lot of game time on the left flank in the coming months.

Jeff Hendrick (SS)

Has been quite impressive in the auxiliary forward role behind the main striker and will look to impact the game going forward.

Chris Wood (ST)

The club-record signing has had a decent start to life in the Premier League but he has to contribute more by scoring goals regularly.
