Chris Martin To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Derby County Lineup Gary Rowett Could Deploy Against Burton

Predicted Derby County Line-up To Face Burton Albion In EFL Championship

With all due to respect to the Brewers, this game has come at the perfect time for Derby County, with them having suffered a demoralising 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich Town in midweek with the Rams heavy favourites to claim all three points.

Derby’s form remains patchy and Tuesday’s defeat came hot on the heels of an impressive 3-0 win away at Middlesbrough for example and another bounce-back performance is needed here.

George Thorne remains out with a hamstring injury, while Chris Martin may come in for David Nugent up front. Gary Rowett is almost certain to go with the familiar 4-2-3-1 formation here using the following starting XI:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Gary Rowett

GK – Scott Carson

The ex-England international stopper’s career is quieter now, though that says nothing about his ability and he will carry on playing solidly as always.

RB – Chris Baird

Coming in for Andre Wisdom, which in no way complements the decision to sell Cyrus Christie to Middlesbrough in the summer.

Scott Carson

CB – Richard Keogh

I honestly thought he might leave in the summer but instead, he carries on in solid style, partnering Curtis Davies for the most part.

CB – Curtis Davies

One of two summer signings from Hull City and it’s fair to say the big man would have hoped to be higher up the division, despite Derby’s position in the top-6.

LB – Craig Forsyth

Not really offering less than what Olsson did and this position isn’t really a problem for the club, though a new attacking left-back would perhaps just add something extra to the promotion push.

CM – Tom Huddlestone

Another ex-Hull man who arrived here on the promise of automatic promotion, the former England international will look to stamp his authority on this midfield, early in the piece.

Tom Huddlestone

CM – Joe Ledley

The former Cardiff man has plenty of experience and should once again partner Huddlestone.

RW – Andreas Weimann

His career promised more than this, though he possesses quality and is likely to line up again.

CAM – Matej Vydra

Enjoying his central role but, much like Weimann, not performing to the Premier League standards many thought he would.

Tom Lawrence

LW – Tom Lawrence

Had a fantastic season in this division for Ipswich Town last season when on loan from Leicester and this represents a step up for him. Undoubtedly has the talent to unlock defences in this league and should have a good night against Burton.

ST – Chris Martin

Arrived at half-time against Ipswich and may well play from the start this time.
