Chelsea Target Falcao Would Fit In Perfectly At Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid or Porto, wherever the Columbian striker has played, he has been sensational. Radamel Falcao scored 39 goals in all competition for Atletico Madrid last season as they won the Europa League trophy beating Bilbao in the final.

Following his exploits in the big stages, various clubs across Europe have shown interest in signing the player. But it looks like Chelsea and Real Madrid would be the favored destination for the striker. The English club, who suffered a Super Cup defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid are rumored to launch an incredible £48m for the striker during the January transfer window. The striker scored an impressive hat trick as clueless Chelsea defenders could not find a way to stop the Columbian. 

But former Portuguese goal keeper and F.C Porto’s legend Victor Baia says that the Columbian star would fit in perfectly at Real Madrid as Mourinho’s system would suit him. 

“Falcao would fit in perfectly at Mourinho’s Madrid, he’d really suit Jose’s system,” the former goalkeeper was quoted in La Xarxa. Barcelona, on the other hand, would have to change their style, although it would be a luxury of a problem for [Barca coach] Tito [Vilanova] to find a way to have him in the team together with [Lionel] Messi. Falcao is a phenomenon, a monster. He’s an old-fashioned forward who does it all. With Falcao in my team, I’d be a very happy man. He’s a top player who could play for any side. He’s complete.”

Last week Falcaa’s father also accepted that his son’s dream is to play for Madrid and he would consider a move to England only if Madrid does not show any interest in the player. After the dream of  Falcao has been revealed  publicly it would be interesting to see what Mourinho and Madrid have in their mind. 

It would be interesting to see how long Atletico can hold on to their star. And following the recent talks about the player leaving the club, Atletico Madrid has to do whatever they can to keep their prized asset and manager Diego Simeone has praised the Columbian for his goal scoring form as he compared the striker to Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez. Diego Simeone was quoted saying:

“For me, Falcao is as good as Hugo Sanchez, or even better, While Hugo was very much Hugo, Falcao has the great virtue of trying to come out better in every match compared to the previous one. He has voracity and an intuition in the area that I’ve only seen in Hugo Sanchez. As a finisher he’s like Hugo, but he’s even more complete. I’ve known Radamel since his time at River Plate, and I’m sure that he’ll keep on growing; that he’ll become a world No.1. I have complete faith in him.”
