Chelsea And Tottenham Combined XI Featuring 9 Blues

Chelsea and Tottenham meet for the Capital One Cup final at Wembley after exactly two months since the spectacular 5-3 victory to Spurs. It would be a classic derby game and a lot of hate involved for each others’ fan bases as the Blues try to grab the first trophy available this season by beating a tricky looking Spurs side.

Here is the combined XI from the two teams.

GK: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

Though the competition in Chelsea is very high, Courtois has been the clear number one. He’s among the best keepers in the world.

RB: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

The Serb has been an important part of the Chelsea offense as he has spent more of his time in attack than defending. Though he has been exposed at the back, his offensive contributions usually make up for those occasional errors.

CB: Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)

It is tough to include any Spurs defender in the line up because they haven’t been as consistent as the Chelsea back four or in fact as consistent as their own offense. Zouma has been exceptional in the games he has played.

CB: John Terry (Chelsea)

The Chelsea skipper would want to redeem himself after the tough night he endured against Spurs on New Year’s day. He is still among the best Center Backs in the world and would want to lead the team to a win.

LB: Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)

Azpilicueta is always on high alert and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the league and one of the most consistent fullbacks in the world as well. He’d have a task in hand against Spurs’ right wing.

CM: Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

The sixth straight Chelsea player to make this lineup. He has been the backbone of Chelsea’s creativity in midfield and has led the team’s offensive game by taking initiative. He leads the assists chart in the Premier League.

CM: Christian Eriksen (Spurs)

One of the most consistent Spurs players this season and he is Spurs’ chief creator this season. He has improved as a player and has been decisive with free kicks and his passing, movement and goals.

RM: Nacer Chadli (Chelsea)

Chadli has been in and out of the team but he has been influential with his goals and directness. He was Harry Kane’s partner in crime against Chelsea last time and is likely to start.

LM: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

He is the Premier League’s best player and is a terror to all defenses. He likes to play against Spurs and despite the loss last time, he was Chelsea’s brightest player.

ST: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

He hasn’t scored since his suspension ended and that is not normal for such a prolific scorer! He would want to get back to his best and stamp his authority as the PL’s top scorer by scoring in the Capital Cup final.

ST: Harry Kane (Spurs)

He has been Spurs’ saviour this season with his inspirational rise to the top level. He has been Tottenham’s top scorer and tormented Chelsea last time. He would want to continue doing that.
