Arsenal Player Ratings Against Everton – Solid From The Gunners

Arsenal produced a solid home display against Everton, who are tricky opponents. The 2-0 victory maintained their third spot intact and Man City’s loss in the previous game meant that they now bear down on the second spot in the league. Here are the player ratings for Arsenal.

David Ospina : 7/10

Had a good, solid game. Dealt well when asked to charge at Lukaku and also made a good save. A little fumble here and there, but a good clean sheet.

Hector Bellerin : 6/10

Had an okay game with some average and some decent moments. Nothing spectacular from him but his passing was a bit off the radar.

Gabriel: 5.5/10

Ousting Mertesacker from the lineup, Gabriel showed clear speed compared to the German but still ended up making some defensive errors, which fortunately didn’t cost the team. Otherwise a decent game with an important tackle late on.

Laurent Koscielny: 7/10

A good game for the French international. He led the back four and had a good battle with Lukaku. He was booked later on for a professional foul on Lennon.

Keiran Gibbs: 6/10

He did nothing spectacular but was efficient in his role, stopping Coleman and Mirallas by offering good resistance.

Francis Coquelin: 7/10

Had a good game as the defensive midfielder. He suffered a nasty blow to his face and left the field later with a nosebleed.

Santi Cazorla: 5.5/10

Not so good a game, probably because he has been playing too many for a while. He wasn’t the creative force on the day, though he was their captain.

Mesut Ozil: 7/10

Didn’t look like he was putting a lot of effort on the pitch but contributed very well with 2 assists to his name, with a bid to prove that he is still one of the best playmakers around.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 6.5/10

Another decent showing by the winger as he was a good threat going forward and showed good movement, passing and dribbling.

Alexis Sanchez: 5.5/10

Not at his best as he looked worn out today. Worked very hard as usual but couldn’t offer and decisive contribution. This is the 7th game without a goal for the forward.

Olivier Giroud: 7/10

Took a brave header early on but missed the target. Had a decent game overall and scored a good striker’s goal from a corner. He has been pretty prolific in the league.
