Brilliant Tierney – The Best And The Worst Rated Celtic Players In Their 4-0 Win Over Hearts

Scott Sinclair celebrates after putting Celts 2-0 up

The Hoops set a new record in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, as their 4-nil win over Hearts of Midlothian saw them extend their undefeated domestic run to 27 games, overtaking the 50-year record held by Lisbon Lions.

Celtic made it 17 straight wins in the league, and are now 22 points clear on top of the log having drawn just 1 of all 22 games played thus far. Despite not able to call upon his 2 frontmen Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths, Rodgers still had enough firepower in his attacking ranks, with Sinclair getting a brace while McGregor and Roberts helped complete the rout.

With Stuart Armstrong picking up a calf strain during warm up, McGregor replaced him in the lineup, and he was the one who put the Bhoys forward on their way to making history. Sinclair played him in from the left to get the game going in the 30th minute via a quick counter attack.

Fullback Tierney was involved in the next 2 goals as play restarted, with Sinclair pouncing on a weak clearance by Aaron Hughes after the youngster put in a cross from the left.

A fine cut back on the 80th minute from the left-back allowed Roberts to grab the 3rd of the match, while Sinclair wrapped up an easy victory from the spot when Lennard Sowah brought down substitute Jack Aitchison in the closing minutes of the game.

Here is how the Bhoys fared in the history-making encounter.

Gordon

Didn’t have much to do in between the sticks as he was hardly troubled, but he did appear lacking full concentration.

Was good with the distributions, though.

Committed a couple of fouls that could have put the defence in trouble, but he was impressive playing the ball from the back while he did well to keep Bjørn Johnsen relatively quiet.

Was effective going forward to support Forrest, as he created chances upon chances, while he was also superb defensively the few times Hearts attempted to use his flank.

Solid performance as usual from the skipper who took complete control of the midfield with his consistent effectiveness.

Impressive outing from the youngster who capped off his great display with a fine goal.

Rating: 8/10

Missed a great chance earlier in the game and was careless with possession on few occasions.

However, he made some vital interceptions and helped dictate the pace of the game in midfield.
