Brilliant Lallana – The Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players vs Middlesbrough

Share

In a week that saw both Merseyside teams stitch victories, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool managed to jump into the 2nd spot in the points table, 6 points off the Chelsea at the top. The Gunners dropped all three points on their trip to the Goodison Park and Liverpool managed to take full advantage of the situation and overtook the Gunners on goals scored. Divock Origi and Adam Lallana were on target for the Reds who also managed to keep a clean sheet and here are the player ratings for the side in their victory at the Riverside:

Simon Mignolet (7):

Came into the starting XI with the loss of form for the first choice and put in a superb performance, keeping a clean sheet to help his side to all three points.

Nathaniel Clyne (6):

Stuck to his task on the line well as he helped his side to a comfortable victory with a decent performance at both the ends.

Dejan Lovren (6):

The senior centre back yet again for Liverpool amidst injuries to key players, Lovren put in a mammoth shift at the back to deny the likes of Negredo on the night.

Ragnar Klavan (7):

A better option for Liverpool than Lucas Leiva at the back, Klavan put in a solid performance to cement his place in the side in the absence of Matip.

James Milner (7):

His usual self on the night as he helped his team out at both ends of the field as Liverpool dominated Boro for most of the game on the night.

Jordan Henderson (7):

A happy man at the end of the game, Henderson yet again produced a superb midfield display that gave the hosts a hard time to control the game in the middle of the field.

Georginio Wijnaldum (6):

Still has a few flaws that are evident but that did not affect his game on the night as he provided a smooth passage between the midfield and the attack for his side.

Adam Lallana (9):

The Man of the Match on the night, Lallana opened the scoring for his side with a header, set up Divock Origi’s goal to double the lead and took the game away with a well made goal in the second half to pick up a brace and an assist in a match winning performance by the midfielder.

Sadio Mane (8):

The Senegalese winger was one of the most effective players on the field for Liverpool against Boro and he is fast becoming an integral player for the squad at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino (7):

Though out of touch in the last few games, the Brazilian, was at his sizzling best on the night as he tormented the defence throughout the game, helping Liverpool keep up the pressure.

Divock Origi (7):

Though slowed the game up at times for his side, Origi scored his 5th goal in as many games for the club recently and he also picked up an assist for Lallana’s second goal, making him one of the most effective players in this round of the fixtures.

Subs:

Lucas Leiva (5):

Came on with Liverpool 3-0 up and did his job by helping his side to a clean sheet.

Ovie Ejaria (5):

Though not an effective performance, Ejaria, who is one the fringes of the first team, got some valuable minutes under his belt late in this game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (5):

Came into the game with just minutes to play but will be happy to have got himself a cap for the club’s senior side.
