Reports from Spain earlier revealed that Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is very close to sign for Arsenal. Champions league qualification could play a crucial role in this transfer saga.
Arsenal need to win against Newcastle United to confirm their participation in next year’s UCL. But if they fail to do so, then it will be very difficult to sign the likes of Higuain and Jovetic.
Adding more fuel to this saga, Romeo Agresti of Goal.com reported that Serie A champions Juventus are preparing a €25 million for the Argentinian striker as they are already giving up on their pursuit of Ibrahimovic from PSG.
With Mario Balotelli already left and Edin Dzeko certain to leave, even Manchester City are considering a move for Higuain who had scored 105 goals in La Liga in 188 appearances for Real Madrid.
Stevan Jovetic who has been the top priority for Wenger is also expected to complete his move to gunners once they secure UCL qualification.
