Liverpool player Joao Teixeira is set to join Porto next season in a four year deal. The 23-year-old player was out of contract at the Reds and thus is ready to move to Porto on a free transfer.
“I’m extremely happy. It was a dream of mine to play for this great club, I had the ambition of wearing this jersey, as I got used to watching FC Porto win titles every year.”- Teixeira in Porto’s website.
The player was in the retain list of the Reds this season, which basically means he will be offered new terms, however, he decided to head out of the Reds and chose Porto over Fiorentina being an avid fan of the former.
The player opted to return to his homeland once his contract with the Reds ended. Teixeira joined Liverpool in 2012 from Sporting Lisbon and has played for Brentford and Brighton on a loan deal for the Reds. Further, he also made seven Premier League appearances for the Reds under manager Jurgen Klopp, scoring a goal in FA Cup win against Exeter.
