Blackburn snapping up this £3.5m English star would be a win-win for all parties involved – agreed?

Blackburn Rovers opinion: Should the Riversiders make a move for Joe Hart?

Blackburn Rovers have had a relatively decent season, with them going as high as fifth place in the second-tier. However, a string of losses in the final few months of the season saw them drop out of contention for a promotion playoff spot.

Eventually, the club ended up in 15th place, which is 14 points off sixth place. Things need to improve for the club and while that may take some time to happen, the Riversiders have to start taking small steps.

However, that doesn’t seem to be an issue with the Sun reporting that they’ve taken a keen interest in Joe Hart.

Currently at Burnley, the 32-year-old goalkeeper has struggled to make an impact with the Clarets. Hart arrived last summer from Manchester City, where he spent a large portion of his career before watching it fazed out by Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard’s arrival at the club changed a lot of things for a lot of players and Joe Hart was at the top of that list. Immediately, Guardiola revealed that the Englishman had no place in his team (Mirror).

Hart was subsequently loaned out to Tornio, where he tried to reignite his career, doing relatively well for the club.

However, he failed to make a big difference and was loaned out to West Ham, where his reputation took a massive hit. Joe Hart finished the season for the Hammers with 19 Premier League games under his belt.

That seemed to entice Burnley, with Sean Dyche snapping him up for around £3.5million (BBC) as cover for injuries elsewhere. However, nothing has worked out and it’s why the move to Blackburn Rovers makes a lot of sense for both parties.

The Riversiders need a new and more reliable goalkeeper with David Raya still learning the ropes. Someone like Joe Hart, however, could be just the catalyst the club need to push them higher up the table and the 32-year-old needs regular game-time.

That’s what Blackburn Rovers can provide him with and with just a year left on his deal with Burnley, they can snap him up for a great price. The Daily Mail has reported that the Clarets are open to letting him go for free.

That should prove to be the catalyst for Blackburn Rovers and they really need to convince Hart to stay in England, because the Mail further adds that French sides are interested.

Conclusion

Joe Hart needs a new lease on life and while it may not be the big money move he wants to move his career forward, Blackburn Rovers can offer him a chance to make his name again.

Once an England number 1, Hart’s reputation has taken a serious hit and a move down south could be the fixer he needs.
