Ba, Van Persie And Suarez A Must, Drop Yaya Toure, Think About Arsenal And Begovic – Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 22 Preview

Share

It’s been more than one week since Fantasy Premier League Managers last saw their team. With a wild-card finally available for the next four weeks, FPL managers will look to reorder, reorganize and replace players for a smooth run for the busy schedule ahead. With killer games lined up this week, team tactics should be more on the offensive, reducing the defensive options to 3 instead of the usual 4. For moving up the ranks in your respective leagues and cups, a number of noticeable aspects to note down for the gameweek 22 are featured below.

Demba Ba, a Chelsea and FPL favorite : A lot has happened in the transfer market already with Demba Ba making his move from Newcastle United to Chelsea earlier this week. Having scored twice in his debut game against Southampton in the FA Cup, he is a ‘must-have’ in your team, fairly priced at £8.6m. Another point FPL managers should take into account is that Chelsea go into the gameweek playing two matches, Stoke City and Southampton, prompting most to include a max number of 3 Chelsea players. A good addition to the team would be Mata, as his consistency has been a riding factor to keep him in your team this season.

The Two Super Clashes of the Week : Manchester United and Arsenal host Liverpool and Manchester City respectively this week, so all FPL managers will be looking to exploit these hard fought matches to gain points right off the bat. To start off, along with Ba, Robin Van Persie is the primary candidate to complete the forward attack of your team. The attacking for Man Utd rely on Van Persie, and with a good match on our hands, we could expect a flurry of goals from both sides. Providing a third to the attack, Suarez can also be included changing your team formation to a 3-4-3. Theo Walcott will be a bright prospect for FPL managers as his newly found attacking midfield skills should brighten the scoreboard.

Goal ‘don’t’ keeper Begovic : His new year performance for Stoke City has been debated over, seeing as nearly 32% of the FPL managers had him in the staring XI for more than seven weeks. A major letdown for the star goalkeeper is the defense which seems to be breached almost every game, with more dependance on Begovic. Going into this gameweek, possible replacements would be Reina, who has had good performance in his last two premier league games, managing two cleans sheets and grabbing 14 points.

Yaya Drop Toure : Having been transferred out 90,138 times, Toure should be a no go for your team. In the past three Premier League games, he has failed to perform, scraping just 9 points. Priced at nearly £8.0m, better options would be to bring in Michu and Fellani to the team. Spur’s star Gareth Bale will make his comeback this gameweek after his suspension, but due to his high priced value and deteriorating display on the field, buying two rising midfielders will do the trick.
